FILM REEL
The First: Galveston Giant

An indepth documentary on the life and legacy of Jack Johnson, the first African-American heavyweight champion in 1908. For this project, I was the Lead Sound Editor in charge of production audio and sound effects/dialogue editing. I had the most fun creating the boxxing scenes. Each fight is unique to Jack's apponent, and I paid extra attention to emphasize the difficulty and importance of each moment through sound.
The Boy
The Boy was one of my Senior Capstone Projects where I filled the role of Supervising Sound Editor. I was responsible for creating, recording, and editing the sound effects and dialogue through Foley and voice-overs. One of my favorite parts about this project was the Viking Raid scene. I wanted this scene to slowly build in intensity as the Vikings rowed to shore. I had a blast recording the screams and yells and thought the dynamics of the audio going from soft to loud worked wonderfully in creating tension and release. Below are some photos from the Foley and dialogue recording sessions.
Tavla

Tavla was another Senior Capstone Project I worked on as the Sound Supervisor. This was a fun and versatile project to work on as it challenged me to think creatively about my sound design. We focused a lot of effort on capturing a natural sound that aided in selling the fluid movements of the characters. One of my favorite parts about this project was recording all of my own sound effects. I recorded a library's worth of backgammon pieces and dice rolls and used paper clips attached to the fingertips of gloves for the cat.

Hole In One
Double Trouble

For Double Trouble, I focused a lot of my efforts on trying to create a fantastic environment with sound through tone and character motifs. I wanted the world to be silly and light-hearted, so I went about choosing, editing, and designing sound effects with slapstick comedy and cartoons in mind. I used slide whistles, bells, cash registers, animal noises, and many more to drive home the comedic moments in this film. I also wanted to show off and highlight each character's fun and unique personality through my sound design. I used fast zips and zaps, jingling bells, and xylophone notes for the wizard since he is a tiny and magical man who's full of spunk. Whereas the knight has heavy footsteps that rattle, clank, and creak from all of his armor.

Action-packed, quick, and precise sound editing with driving and melodic music composition. Focused on creatively blending sound design and music composition hits/cues to emphasize battle impacts. Created and edited in Pro Tools, and sampled flute from YouTube
